Samick never included this model in their own line, as they bought a brand name, not an actual company (since most of it had burned down at the time). As I understand it, Samick Valley Arts Custom Pro 5-string basses are quite rare. I've owned one of these for about 20 years now. Just stumbled upon this thread while Googling for pics. My question of course is can help me out and give me their opinion how much i should charge for it? I asked him to snap some new pics, I will put them up asap. I have a couple of pictures (unfortunately of the worst quality) which you can find through the links. Now I don't want to rip off my friend, but of course I don't want to rip off myself either. I really don't know wether to ask 50 or 500 euro's (or dollars) for it. The problem is that neither he or me has any clue about how much he should pay for this bass. I borrowed this bass to a friend, who may want to buy it off me. The body is some kind of honey/flame/burst color (sorry i'm not an expert on the terminology) with a ivory-colored edge all around. It has active elements, and it played very nice. On the head it says concept & design by custom pro shop Valley Arts. Tom 785 735 35OO Leave a message with a call back number if you get the machine.Sometime around 1997 I bought a 5 string Samick. cleaned and polished the neck and body, cleaned the fingerboard, cleaned and polished the frets, cleaned the controls (no scratchy pots), installed new round wound strings (GHS 44-106) adjusted the intonation, etc. Not at all like the stuff coming from China today. I am impressed with the condition and original craftmanship of the bass. The back of the neck is perfectly smooth. Structurally the bass has no issues, a solid instrument. There is one ding on the top edge of the body that needs mentioned. It is used and has very light handling wear. electronics, truss rod, bridge saddles, tuners etc. EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION!! It comes with the padded Levy's EM 8 gig bag case you see in the pictures.įeatures include: chrome hardware, sealed tuners, bullet truss rod adjustment nut, 20 fret maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with dot markers, two pickups, 2 volume controls, master tone control, contoured body, adjustable bridge, three tone sunburst body finish. It is truely a GREAT PLAYING/SOUNDING BASS! 100% original and complete. Obviously, this bass was inspired by the 1970's Fender American Standard Jazz Bass. This is a SAMICK VALLEY ARTS CUSTOM PRO SHOP ELECTRIC BASS GUITAR. BEAUTIFUL BASS, GREAT VALUE!! As good or better than a Mexican made Fender Jazz Bass.
